Whats a healthy way to cook vegetables??…and?

Im 17 and want to eat healthy… i wanna ways of cooking white rice or on any tips when cooking healthy i would appreciate it thnx

How to cook rice-

Combine one cup rice and two cups of water in a saucepot and bring to a boil. Clap a lid on it and turn the heat down to Low. If you’re using a gas stove, that’s a little wispy flame. If you’re using an electric stove, that’s like 2 clicks from Off. Here’s the hardest part: resist the urge to lift the lid for 15 minutes. Really. Taste a forkful; it should be tender and there should be a wee bit of water remaining in the bottom of the pot. Replace the lid and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the rice to sit (with the lid on it) on the burner until ready to serve.

    grilling vegetables in a grill pan is really good and it’s healthy. Just use a little bit of olive oil.

    white rice is healthy cooked just the way it says on the box.

    The healiest way to cook vegetables is to steam them. This causes the veggies to lose less vitamins than all other methods of cooking them.

    First brown rice is much healthier. You can cook it on a stove top. boil water and make sure it is lightly salted. When it is boiling add your rice. Carefully stirring it every few minutes to make sure it is not sticking to the bottom. Taste to check if its done.

    I agree with another person on here. Grilling veggies is healthy and delicious, especially tomatoes, peppers and egg plant.

    A great recipe for egg plant is, cut thick slices of egg plant, brush on olive oil and salt and pepper very lightly then grill. Delicious!

    Otherwise you can always steam your veggies.
    If you don’t have steaming pans, you can get those GLAD veggie steaming bags.

    Steaming until just crisp/tender is good as is grilling. I like to use a little toasted sesame oil when grilling sometimes just for a different taste. You can also oven roast vegetables. Just don’t overcook them so that you keep as many nutrients as possible. I personally prefer brown rice and never use the instant, microwaveable or quick cooking rice in a box.

    Although steaming first comes to mind, it can also leave your veges somewhat flavorless unless you season them well. You can also add sliced lemon or herbs to the water you use and consider seasoning veges with different spices such as lemon pepper, seasoned salt, fresh black pepper, different salts, such as pink or grey salt, tarragon, rice wine vinegar etc. Mrs. Dash offers herb blends without the salt if that concerns you. I also like to stirfry veges and tofu and then serve them with brown rice or whole grain pasta. Barilla makes great whole grain pasta. Also consider barley, tabouleh, and other non-traditional grains. Alternate your brown rice with jasmine rice so that you don’t get burned out. Cook your rice in a water flavored with herbs, or in vegetable broth. Toss with a little olive oil and chopped fresh herbs.
